All Power Vinyasa, Vinyasa & Ashtanga classes will be taught in a warm room (apx., 80 degrees).  The classes are taught in a warm room to keep the muscles warm and pliable  -- the heat also helps to purify the body by removing toxins through the sweat.  It is recommended that students bring a towel and water to class.  Be prepared to sweat!!

Vinyasa - means to flow or link one movement into the next while coordinating each movement with the breath.

Ujjayi Breathing - means "victorious breath".  Ujjayi is an audible breathing technique which is used as a mantra to quiet and focus the mind during yoga practice.  Ujjayi breathing can transform your yoga practice into a moving meditation.  It is difficult to practice ujjayi breathing without engaging core lift (mulabandha and uddiyana bandha) -- Ujjayi helps to deepen the bandha engagement.  Ujjayi breathing fully expands the lungs, oxygenates the body & helps to quiet the mind.

Prana - is another word for "life-force".  Mulabhandha, Uddiyanha Bandha, and Jalandhara Bandha regulate the flow of prana throughout the body.

Asana - means "posture".

Drishti - means "looking out/looking in" ....drishti is a point of gaze or focus to help you keep your balance and focus during practice.
